The IAEA General Conference is one of the most important events on the international nuclear calendar and this year the UK hosted a side event on the role of advanced technologies.
Equilibrion was absolutely delighted to be invited by the UK Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) to participate in the panel discussion alongside Rolls-Royce SMR, the IAEA Director General Raphael Mariano Grossi and Minister Andrew Bowie.
The session was packed with standing room only while Caroline Longman, Director, outlines how dedicated nuclear energy could be deployed to drive the production of low-carbon nuclear-derived fuels for use in aviation, shipping and heavy transport.
Equilibrion is passionate about how nuclear can support decarbonisation in new, innovative ways and the UK is leading the way. With nuclear included in both the Hydrogen Business Model, Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation and proposed within the Sustainable Aviation Fuel Mandate, is there a better place in the world to develop a nuclear-derived fuels project than the UK right now? We don’t think so.
